Want a 50% Indiana tax credit for your donations?

Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Indiana has NAP credits!

Neighborhood Assistance Program

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority offers Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits annually for distribution by 501(C) 3 not-for-profit corporations.  These organizations use NAP Tax Credits as an incentive to help leverage increased contributions from individuals and businesses for certain neighborhood-based programs and projects.

Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Indiana was awarded credits in June 2016.  Sixty percent of the NAP credits must be sold by January 9, 2017. The remainder must be sold by June 5, 2017. By contributing to HFHNEI and utilizing our NAP credits, you will fund our mission of helping low-income families attain homeownership in DeKalb, Noble, and Steuben counties while reducing your tax liability to the State of Indiana.

How do nap credits work?

When you contribute to HFHNEI through this NAP program you receive 50% of your donation in the form of NAP credits, which are deductible directly off of your state tax liability. NAP credits are available for contributions of at least $100 or more.  As an example, a donation to HFHNEI of $1,000 would give the donor a credit of $500 off of their state tax liability. Eligible donors include any person, business, or organization that has an Indiana income tax liability. New donations made before or on December 31, 2016 will receive credit for the 2016 tax year; donations made on or after January 1, 2017 will receive credit for the 2017 tax year. You are able to donate in both periods and receive NAP credits for both years. Please note that NAP credits are deductions from your tax liability, they are not a return. NAP credits are only eligible for donations, however ongoing marketing sponsorship opportunities are available.

A limited amount of NAP credits are awarded each year and distributed on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, you may donate by mailing a check to the address below.

IMPORTANT: You must also send a completed NC-10 form to the following address in order for your donation to qualify for NAP credits:  HFHNEI, PO Box 620, Auburn, IN 46706.
